Functional testing
Functional testing: answers your child's standard panel may have missed
The appointments happen, the standard blood panel comes back “normal”, and your child is still struggling. Functional testing looks where standard panels don't: how your child's gut is functioning, the nutrients they are actually running on, their metabolism and stress physiology. For 19 years ReMed's practitioners have used 5 testing pathways to investigate the why behind children's conditions, and a test is only recommended when the first consultation suggests the data would genuinely change the plan. Data over guesswork, in that order.
The 5 pathways
Each test answers a different question
None of these is a default. The right pathway, if any, depends on your child's history, symptoms and what has already been investigated.
How testing works at ReMed
3 quiet rules, every time
Recommended, not default
Testing enters the conversation only when your child's 60-minute initial consultation suggests the data would change decisions. No menu, no upselling.
Collected without drama
Most samples (stool, urine, saliva, cheek swab) are collected at home with a posted kit. Blood draws happen at a pathology collection centre near you.
Interpreted in context
Results come back to a consultation, online or in clinic, where they are read against your child's full history rather than in isolation.
We don't publish test prices because they vary by lab and by panel: you'll be quoted the exact cost before anything is ordered. Consultation fees are listed on the fees page.

The conditions these pathways serve
Testing is never the goal: it is 1 phase of the Moore Method, in service of understanding your child's condition.
Wondering which test fits your child's picture?
Start with a conversation, not a checkout. The right test depends on your child's history, and that is where every ReMed engagement begins.
