Are you concerned about your child? Not sure if they getting enough from their food?

Nutrients are categorised into macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients. Macro-nutrients, carbohydrates, protein and fat provide energy whilst micro-nutrients such as iron, zinc and folate are needed for optimal function of the body.

Nutritional deficiencies such as iron and zinc are very common in kids, and occur particularly in kids who:

  • Have recurrent worm infestations

  • Or frequent or recurrent infections

  • Are on a restricted diet due to food intolerances

So how do you know? Common signs that your child may have a nutrient deficiency can include:

  • Fatigue or trouble concentrating

  • Low appetite

  • Behavioural problems

  • Increased frequency or recurrent infections
