Patrick is passionate about treating people living with chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. As complex conditions, careful application of massage techniques can improve symptoms by increasing circulation, reducing inflammation and relieving nervous system sensitivity.
Research has shown that massage consistently improves the quality of life in patients with fibromyalgia. Patrick uses myofascial release and connective tissue techniques which have been shown to reduce fatigue and stiffness, and improve quality of life.
A career in helping people through massage was a natural choice for Patrick. Determined to be an effective therapist, Patrick initially studied the CERT IV in Relaxation Massage from Endeavour College, before gaining a Diploma of Remedial Massage from the Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy.
Patrick believes in the potential of natural therapies to aid the body’s innate ability to heal. He sees his role as to help patients identify blockages to the natural healing process and apply the right treatment to clear them. Patrick works as part of a collaborative team to provide this holistic approach to achieving health and maintaining wellbeing.
