How we work
The Moore Method: understand, investigate, support
The Moore Method is the 3-phase process ReMed's practitioners have refined over 19 years and 1000s of consultations. It starts with a 60-minute initial consultation (from $242, in Bundoora or by telehealth), moves to functional testing only where it is clinically indicated, and settles into a personalised plan that is adjusted as your child responds, coordinated with your GP, paediatrician or psychologist. No hype, no guesswork: a plan you can actually follow.
The 3 phases
1 method, 3 phases
Understand
A 60-minute initial consultation covering your child's full history, not a 10-minute snapshot.
Investigate
Targeted functional testing where clinically indicated, so decisions follow data, not guesswork.
Support
A personalised plan, reviewed and adjusted as your child responds, coordinated with your child's doctors.
Phase 1: Understand
Everything begins with a 60-minute initial consultation, because a complex child cannot be understood in a 10-minute snapshot. Your practitioner takes the full story: pregnancy and birth, infections and antibiotics, sleep, eating, school, the timeline of when things changed, and what every other clinician has already found. You talk, we listen, and the patterns start to surface.
Phase 2: Investigate
Where the history raises questions that data can answer, we investigate: gut microbiome, nutritional, genetic, organic acids or hormone testing, chosen to your child rather than from a menu. Every recommended test is explained and quoted before it is ordered, and if no testing is needed, none happens. Decisions follow data, not guesswork.
Phase 3: Support
Findings become a personalised plan: practical, prioritised and built around your actual family, not an idealised version. Subsequent consultations review what is working and adjust as your child responds, and we keep your GP, paediatrician or psychologist in the loop wherever you want us to. Support is a rhythm, not a single appointment.
The first consultation
Before, during and after
Before
Book a time that suits (online or in Bundoora), then gather what exists: past blood tests, specialist letters, school observations, a list of current medications and supplements. The more history we can see, the less of your 60 minutes is spent starting from zero.
During
60 minutes with a practitioner who specialises in children: the full history, your questions answered in plain language, and an honest discussion about whether testing would add anything. Where simple first steps make sense, they start now rather than after weeks of waiting.
After
You leave with clear next steps. Any recommended testing is arranged and quoted, a follow-up is scheduled at a sensible interval, and with your consent we coordinate with your child's medical team so everyone is working from the same picture.
Ready for an appointment where you feel heard?
The first consultation is where the joining of dots begins. Bring the story; we'll bring 19 years of asking why.
Fees
Transparent, flat and published
No packages, no surprises: consultation fees are flat and listed here. Test costs are always quoted separately before anything is ordered.
| Consultation | Length | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Initial Health Review | 60 minutes | From $242 |
| Subsequent consultation | 30 minutes | From $149 |
| Extended consultation | 45 minutes | From $209 |
| Acute consultation | 15 minutes | From $95 |
| Fees vary by practitioner experience, so consultations start from the prices shown. Private health rebates may apply, and HICAPS is available on the spot at the clinic. | ||
More detail, including what each consultation type is for, lives on the fees page.
An honest fit check
Who this process suits, and who it doesn't
The Moore Method suits families who
- Want to understand why their child is struggling, not just manage the symptoms.
- Are ready for a process: a deep history, possibly testing, and a plan that adjusts over time.
- Want care that works alongside their GP, paediatrician or psychologist.
- Have a child with a complex or persistent picture that short appointments keep missing.
It is not the right path when
- Your child needs emergency care. If your child is acutely unwell or in danger, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department now. That is always the right call, and nothing here replaces it.
- It's an acute, same-day illness. Your GP or an urgent care clinic is the right first stop for sudden acute sickness.
- You're looking to replace medical care. We work with your child's doctors, never instead of them. If you want a practitioner who positions against medicine, that is not us.
- You need a guaranteed outcome. Every child is different, and no honest practitioner can promise a specific result. We promise the process: thorough, evidence-aware and adjusted to your child.
How we work: questions parents ask
Anything that tells your child's story: previous blood tests, specialist letters, reports, and a list of current medications and supplements (please never stop a prescribed medication without the prescriber involved). Add your own top 3 questions. If you have nothing on paper, come anyway: the history we take is thorough either way.
No. Testing belongs to phase 2 and only enters the picture where it is clinically indicated, meaning the result would actually change your child's plan. When a test is recommended, it is explained and the exact cost quoted before anything is ordered.
Yes, emphatically. ReMed's care is complementary to your child's medical care, not a replacement for it. We are happy for your medical team to see what we are doing and why, and where a finding needs medical follow-up we will send you straight back to them.
It depends on your child's picture, so we won't invent a number. Appointments are booked consultation by consultation, subsequent reviews run 30 minutes from $149, and spacing follows how your child responds rather than a fixed program.
The plan exists. It starts with 60 minutes.
